New Hyde Park, NY April 22
Skin cancer, including melanoma, is considered an epidemic, with rates rising faster than any other cancer. The deadliest form of skin cancer, melanoma, will affect one person in 50 by 2010. By comparison, in 1935, only one in 1500 was struck by the disease during his or her lifetime. Few people realize that melanoma is the most common form of cancer for young adults 25-29 years old and the second most common cancer in adolescents and young adults age 15-29.
