2006 Miles for Melanoma Run/Walk

Encouraged by the success of previous walks, CCMAC held their annual “Steps to Stop Skin Cancer & Miles for Melanoma Walk” at Eisenhower Park, May 2006. Our faithful sponsors and supporters; Sperry Federal Credit Union, News 12 Long Island, and Mix 107.2 FM Radio. In addition delicious and nourishing snacks were provided by Whole Foods of Jericho, and cool refreshing drinks supplied by Joe Greblunas of Hillside Beverage. We also thank the Verizon employees for setting up the tents and providing protective covering for all. Dr. Ashfaq Marghoob of Memorial Sloan Kettering, Hauppauge, New York spoke to the walkers about the need for attitude and behavior change to ensure sun safety for all. The Shannon Family (pictured below) walked as “Team Diana” remembering the spirit of their Beloved Diana Shannon.
