CCMAC's Inuagural Walk was a huge success thanks to the overwhelming response of Long Islanders from the Hamptons to Queens, NY.

Farmingdale Community Fair 2005

Our thanks to Regina Baker for again being present at the Farmingdale Community Fair on behalf of CCMAC, Regina has distributed informational materials for the past several years in her efforts to Prevent Skin Cancer through education. We were also pleased to respond to Bayside High Schools' invitation to their Student Health Fair. Reaching teens will save lives in future. From Queens to the East End of Long Island the message of Sun Safety must be heard.

Below are a Mother and Son, residents of East Hampton, at the East Hampton Healthcare Center Fair where the "Be Sun Smart"message was received by all in attendance.

CCMAC's Dinner Dance & Auction

Recognizing the importance of community support, we thank not only those who attended but also all those who though unable to attend, contributed monetarily to our goal. Together we can and will change attitudes regarding sun exposure and hopefully save lives.

World Gym & Melanoma Awareness Month

May is Melanoma awareness month. While CCMAC is committed to educating the public about the dangers of Melanoma Skin Cancer all year round it is during the designated month of May that we make an extra special effort to increase awareness and inform the public about the dangers of unprotected sun exposure and to “Be Sun Smart” all year long.

May is an especially significant month to many of us that live in New York and on Long Island, especially since so many head to the Hamptons to enjoy themselves at our many beautiful beaches and parks. World Gym, located in Hampton Bays New York has consistently for the past four years been a very integral part of CCMAC’s educational and awareness efforts on the East End of Long Island. World Gym has hosted “May is Melanoma Awareness Month” in their Hampton Bays facility. They have provided literature and video materials regarding the Prevention and Detection of Melanoma Skin Cancer.

World Gym’s John Mahoney, owner and Nancy Kouris, manager, pictured bottom right have a long history of caring for the people in the community and being committed to the “total health” of individuals as well as the Long Island community. May happens to be Melanoma awareness month, however World Gym has and continues to be committed every month to a variety of causes that affect us all in our daily lives.

We would like to thank once again World Gym’s John Mahoney, Nancy Kouris and all of their staff for supporting CCMAC and for their continued commitment to the community. If you’re in the Hamptons, and want to improve your fitness and increase your health awareness, please stop by World Gym and do it.
